Black Evolution VIII power play
This Evolution VIII has all the cosmetics from Ralliart and some extra power from APC!
Motec OEM tuned by APC retains factory boost level but only smoother, refined air fuel ratio mapping and altered ignition mapping is where the majority of the hidden power lies.
The blue lines indicate the power and torque before installation of the Motec engine management system. Note: The vehicle has a Ralliart cat back exhaust system & panel air filter fitted. The green lines indicate the power and torque delivery from a finely tuned Evolution VIII.
Here you can see the differences in the boost curve; the green solid line indicates the Motec has smooth control and compared with the solid blue line (Factory ECU)
The dotted lines indicate the air fuel ratio mixtures, the blue line being "factory" you see the AFR falls away rich and after being the green line shows the correction achieved by Tuning of the Motec engine management system. In the case the AFR's were set conservatively leaving plenty of scope for more power later.
Later the owner decided he wanted to trash the Ralliart exhaust and fit a proven APC turbo back system on the vehicle, the results speak clearly for them selves. More flow equals more power more power means more fun!
